The activities and charities of L.C.Cyprus are many
and have managed to make Ladies Circle well known
all over the country. Every year a National Charity
Project is voted at the Annual General Meeting and
all the clubs contribute equally towards this project.
L.C. Cyprus also contributes to the L.C. International
Charity Project.
The last 7 years L.C.Cyprus’ main community project
is concentrated on the ever-increasing problem of drug
use in Cyprus. Together with the affiliated clubs Round
Table Cyprus and 41 Club Cyprus and the Anti-drug Association
Cyprus they have established a unique organization
with the name “Life Education Centers”(L.E.C.) Cyprus.
The programs of this Organization try to inspire and
teach children about the wonderful gift of life. L.E.C.Cyprus
managed to acquire and donate to the Ministry of Education
and Culture three Life Education Mobile Units called
“MENTOR”.
These mobile units are properly equipped as training
classrooms in which the well-trained staff teaches
young children about the positive sites of life and
how to avoid drugs and other addictives substances.
The Cyprus Ministry of Education has enrolled these
Anti-Drug sophisticated programs in schools and the
three “Mentor” mobile units visit the primary and secondary
schools on a daily basis.
The club’s common goal is to purchase as many units
as needed to cover all schools all over the island.
In September 1998 L.C.Cyprus had the honor of organizing
the L.C.39th International Conference in Limassol and
in January 2003 the South European Countries Mid-Term-Meeting,
both with great success.
During all these years members from clubs in Cyprus
represent the country at L.C.I. conferences all over
the world. This enables them to share unforgettable
moments with circlers from different countries, make
friends and enjoy every minute of Circle Life. Also
our members have come closer together and managed to
make new friends not only locally but all over Cyprus
as well. This is the real meaning of being in the family
of such organization.
